One of PFLAG's goals is to educate members and the public about
sexual orientation. We believe that stereotypes, misinformation and myths
about sexual orientation and gender identity are dispelled through
education. We, as parents, families and friends of gay, lesbian, bisexual or
transgendered (GLBT loved ones, are then able to be
supportive without deeply ingrained prejudices. Sadly, the revelation that a
loved one is GLBT often breaks families apart. Our goal
is to keep our families together by developing deeper relationships with
all our children.
