Scientific Information...
Articles in Scientific American (May 1994, p. 44) discussed origins of
homosexuality. Genetic differences and anatomical differences found in certain brain
structures of some gay men were presented.
Dean Hamer and Peter Copeland's The Science of Desire: The Search for
the Gay Gene and the Biology of Behavior, a major book in the area, discusses
in great detail their own research and other findings, including the strengths and
weaknesses of that research.
Simon LeVay and Dean H. Hamer's book Evidence for a Biological Influence in Male
Homosexuality describes two pieces of evidence, a structure within
the human brain and a genetic link, which point to a biological component for male
homosexuality.
